The Mobilinx consortium, of which Transdev is a member, has won a contract worth €3.15bn for the Hurontario tramway project in the Toronto area (Canada). Mobilinx will design, build, finance, operate and maintain it for 30 years.

Transdev will operate and maintain the Hurontario tramway, an 18km light rail line with 19 stops. It will have its own dedicated lane with a traffic priority system along most of its length. This result is bolstering Transdev's global leadership in operating 24 tramway systems across 10 countries.

Not only that, but the Transdev Group has also secured several public transport contracts in France and abroad:

  • in France, the public transport contracts of the Fougères, Grand-Verdun, Royan, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Guingamp-Paimpol conurbations, as well as the regular and school bus lines in the Somme département, for a total value of more than €230mn;
  • in the US, the public transport operations and maintenance contract in New Orleans, worth €213mn;
  • in Germany, the contract for the Saxony urban rail line, which carries 10,000 passengers every day, until the end of 2021;
  • in the Netherlands, to speed up the energy transition of its bus fleet in Amsterdam and Haarlem, in replacement of diesel and gas buses, Transdev has placed an order for 156 electric buses for a value of €130mn.

Finally, on 19 October Transdev commissioned line 1 of Greater Avignon's tramway. This 5.2km line connects downtown Avignon to the southern neighbourhoods and forms the backbone of the network, which has been completely overhauled
