On 2 May, Raphaëlle Koetschet, head of a team of private equity managers at Caisse des Dépôts, was named by Private Equity International, the world's leading magazine in the sector, as one of the 40 most promising young professionals1 in the private equity industry.
Raphaëlle Koetschet heads a team of around ten people making about twenty investments per year, selected among several hundreds of funds met with.
The team chooses which funds to invest in a way based on many criteria: a satisfactory ESG2 approach, quality and depth of past performance, positive team dynamics, distinctive and relevant nature of the strategy implemented. Its main role is to identify, analyse and select the best non-listed investment fund managers in France and in Europe, but also in the United States, on behalf of the Caisse des Dépôts’ general section and the Savings Fund.
Risk capital plays an important economic role by supporting companies throughout their life cycle. Risk capital consists of acquiring majority or minority stakes in the capital of small and medium-sized companies which are generally not listed on the stock exchange. The acquisition of these stakes finances their launch (innovation capital), their growth (development capital), their transmission (LBO), and sometimes their turnaround (turnaround capital). Risk capital therefore supports the creation of companies, innovation, employment, and the renewal and preservation of the economic fabric.
