The Public Institution’s CSR policy
For Caisse des Dépôts' internal operations, the “Écotidien: together, more responsible” programme sets out three major challenges: avoiding and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, offsetting a portion of these emissions and adopting responsible operating practices.
Adopting responsible practices
Governance and business ethics
The Group's unique governance model, established when it was created in 1816, is designed to ensure its stability and continuity.
As a third party entrusted with serving the public, Caisse des Dépôts has a duty to lead by example and apply best practices, particularly in terms of ethics, the fight against corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing, fraud prevention and personal data protection. It undertakes to continuously improve its risk prevention system and places compliance and ethics at the heart of its actions to serve the public interest.
A responsible employer
Steadfast in its belief that socially responsible human resources management is essential to its performance and the achievement of its strategic ambitions, the Caisse des Dépôts Group is firmly positioned as a responsible employer. The Group's commitment to promoting and respecting gender equality in the workplace, equal opportunities, decent working conditions, human rights and fundamental freedoms for its employees is reiterated in its Responsible Employer Statement (in French only), which was published in 2022.
In this statement, the Group undertakes to respect the fundamental principles and rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Global Compact and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Declaration and conventions.

Responsible purchasing policy
The Caisse des Dépôts Group is committed to implementing responsible purchasing practices in order to control its impact across its supply chain, and to developing mutually beneficial relationships with its suppliers and subcontractors.
The Public Institution's 2024-2027 plan to promote socially responsible public procurement reinforces its actions in favour of social progress, the reduction of its environmental impact and a balanced relationship with its stakeholders, with a commitment to encouraging buy-in from its service providers. All general and real estate purchases include responsible purchasing criteria as well as binding clauses in the technical and administrative specifications.
Group mediation
On the recommendation of the French ombudsman a Group mediation body was set up in 1997 to offer amicable solutions to disputes for people benefiting from services provided by the Group and its entities.
Personal data protection
The Group may collect and process personal data relating to its customers, employees, partners, suppliers and service providers. Caisse des Dépôts has developed governance procedures integrating the legal and regulatory requirements relating to the use and protection of this data. A data protection officer monitors compliance with the regulations, in collaboration with the legal and tax division, and cooperates with France's data protection body, the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés) on issues relating to the processing of personal data. A GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) oversight committee, chaired by the Director of Operations and Business Transformation Management, has also been set up.
