Caisse des Dépôts and its entities form a public group which fulfils its functions in support of the policies pursued by the French State and local authorities. The Caisse des Dépôts Group operates in a range of competitive sectors in France and abroad, such as finance, support for businesses and local authorities, local services, housing and real estate, energy and the environment, and sustainable mobility.
All of these entities help the Group achieve its strategic objectives:
Arpavie. Created in 2016 from the merger of three associations (AREFO, AREPA and ARPAD), Arpavie is one of two leading non-profit groups in France managing residences and services for the elderly (nursing homes, retirement homes, home care). Together with Action Logement, CDC is a founding member of Arpavie.
Bpifrance. A public investment bank owned by Caisse des Dépôts and the French State, Bpifrance's purpose is to boost the French economy and make it more competitive through support for public policy. It finances companies at each stage of their development, through loans, guarantees and equity. As a trusted partner to entrepreneurs, it provides advice, training, networking and an acceleration programme for start-ups and small and medium-sized companies.
CDC Biodiversité. Supports French and European businesses, local and regional authorities, contractors and public bodies in measuring their impact on ecosystems and implementing concrete, long-term initiatives to promote biodiversity. CDC Biodiversité was set up in 2008 with a mission to reconcile biodiversity and economic development.
CDC Croissance. Manages a range of specialist funds for listed small and medium-sized businesses, mainly in France and the eurozone. All of its investments are based on a fundamental, long-term approach that systematically incorporates ambitious ESG criteria and strong support for investees.
CDC Habitat. As France's leading social housing provider with more than one million people housed in over 550,000 homes, CDC Habitat delivers effective solutions to the housing challenge, covering all types of accommodation and offering its tenants homes suited to their needs and means.
CDC Investissement Immobilier. A subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts dedicated to managing real estate investment assets. Part of the Asset Management division, it contributes to the diversification of the financial asset portfolio with a view to creating long-term value.
CNR. Concession-holder on the Rhône river for hydropower generation, river transport and agricultural uses, CNR is also France’s leading producer of 100% renewable energy (water, wind, solar). It is also France’s second-biggest producer of electricity, a contributor to regional development, and a key player in the energy transition.
Compagnie des Alpes. The current European leader in the leisure sector, Compagnie des Alpes operates the largest ski resorts in the French Alps and a range of well-known leisure parks in Europe. Firmly rooted in the communities where it operates, Compagnie des Alpes works with its partners and its 5,000 employees to develop committed, innovative and responsible projects.
Coriance. Builds, develops and operates district heating and cooling networks, using predominantly locally sourced renewable (geothermal, biomass) and recovered energy, to support local authorities and industrial players in their energy transition.
Egis. An international player in the construction engineering and mobility services sectors, Egis designs and operates intelligent infrastructure and buildings that, by enabling more balanced, sustainable and resilient regional development, are capable of responding to the climate emergency and the major challenges of our time.
Emeis. Present in 20 countries with 76,000 experts and professionals in healthcare, care and support for the most vulnerable in society, emeis covers five activities: psychiatric hospitals, post-acute care and rehabilitation hospitals, nursing homes, home care and services and assisted-living facilities.
Euroclear. The leading financial market infrastructure provider for transactions in Europe, Euroclear is an international central securities depository for shares, bonds and derivative instruments for the Belgian, French and Dutch markets.
Euronext. The eurozone's leading stock exchange with almost 2,000 issuers and a market capitalisation of over €6,000bn, Euronext was created from the merger of the Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels stock exchanges in 2000. The Lisbon, Dublin, Oslo and Milan stock exchanges have also since joined.
Groupe La Poste. Majority-held by Caisse des Dépôts Group since 2020, with the French State as its other shareholder, La Poste group serves the French people by offering useful services adapted to their needs. Through its four public service missions (universal postal service, accessible banking, regional development, and press transport and delivery), it supports the major ecological, regional, demographic and digital transitions that are impacting society.
I4CE. An expert in finance and economics, the Institute for Climate Economics promotes policies aiming to combat climate change. Through its applied research, the Institute engages in and contributes to debates on climate policy.
Icade. A major player in the French real estate sector. Icade operates in two main markets: commercial property (offices, business premises, shopping centres) and the public market (local amenities). Its expertise is deployed across three core businesses: property investment, property development and property services.
NaTran NaTran is France's leading natural gas transport operator, and the second largest in Europe. With its two subsidiaries, Elengy (the European leader in LNG terminal services) and NaTran Deutschland (operator of the MEGAL transmission network in Germany), the Group has a public service mission to ensure the continuity of transmission of natural gas to its 865 customers (biomethane producers, shipping companies, industrial sites, power plants and distributors).
Novethic. Specialising in sustainable finance strategy and corporate social responsibility practices, Novethic deploys its expertise – media, research, audit, and training – to enable professionals, financial institutions, businesses and citizens to meet the challenges of the sustainable transformation.
RTE. Positioned at the heart of the electricity system, French electricity transmission network operator RTE plays a key role in ensuring that everyone in France and Europe has access to an affordable, secure and clean electricity supply, enabling the energy transition and promoting the industrial development of local regions.
SCET. A tier-one subsidiary of Banque des Territoires, SCET supports and advises local players working in the public interest It leverages all of the skills available within the Caisse des Dépôts ecosystem and provides local projects with a complete range of services covering the entire value chain.
Sfil. A public development bank active in local public sector financing and the refinancing of major export credit agreements. In partnership with Caisse des Dépôts, Sfil refinances medium- and long-term loans granted by La Banque Postale to local governments and public hospitals.

SUEZ. Established in 2022, the "new SUEZ" is a major player in environmental services in France and around the world. Suez supports local authorities and industrial groups on a daily basis in managing essential services such as water distribution and treatment and waste collection, recycling and recovery.
Transdev. Present in France and around the world, Transdev is an operator and global integrator of mobility, providing 12 million passenger trips on average every day thanks to efficient, safe, innovative and environmentally friendly transport services that connect people and communities.
